Lessons & Coaching

Morgan's private voice and piano studio offers one-on-one instruction to a range of students from young children to adults, who vary in musical aspirations and experience. Her instruction helps students develop good technique, habits, and musicianship, as well as increased confidence in their skills.

Where are lessons currently offered?

Lessons are currently offered in the Tampa Bay area as well as online via various platforms (Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, etc).

How long does each lesson last, and how much does it cost?

Lessons are typically 30, 45, or 60 minutes long but can be tailored to fit the needs of the student. Price varies depending on location and length, but ranges from $30 to $70. Please inquire for more information.

What age can students begin lessons?

Students can start lessons as young as 4 years old, but this varies from student to student.

Voice students under 13 years old should also strongly consider taking piano lessons, either from Ms. Morgan or another teacher.

What materials, if any, are provided?

For piano students, Morgan provides the student’s first book after the student’s level has been determined. Any additional books are then the responsibility of the student.

Each voice student will be provided a copy of the song that is currently being worked on. Sometimes Ms. Morgan will suggest that a student should purchase a specific book if it contains several selections that would be appropriate.

While it is strongly encouraged that the student has their own keyboard or piano (especially so for piano students), if needed, a keyboard can be provided for each lesson. Let Ms. Morgan know if you need help with purchasing your own.

What experience and musical background do you have?

Morgan has almost 10 years of teaching experience working with students of all ages and levels. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance and has been performing and singing since elementary school. Her current and past students have participated in & won competitions, performed lead roles in musicals, and been accepted into exclusive choirs/clinics.

Do you provide coaching for various goals or auditions a student may have?

Yes, each lesson given by Ms. Morgan is engineered to help the individual student reach their goals. This can range from preparing students for the AP Music Theory exam, auditioning for All-State, helping a student learn a role for a musical or selections for a competition, as well as many other scenarios. Morgan also offers language coaching for her voice students in Italian, French, German, Spanish, Russian, and several other languages.

Are there any performance opportunities for students?

Twice a year (usually in the winter and early summer), Morgan's students put on a showcase for friends and family. Details for any upcoming concerts are announced on the website and via the newsletter.
